Welcome to MarketerGizmo’s weekly life hacks for marketers! My name is Andrea and I’m here to bring you this week’s life hack.
This week we are talking about keeping a time diary to help improve your daily productivity.
(V.O.)Dear diary, Bob in accounting stole my lunch again today, so I put super glue on his keyboard.
Oh hey Bob.
(V.O.) He’s never gonna see it coming!
Okay so we aren’t talking about that kind of diary today. We’re talking about keeping time diaries.
Time is something we are always fighting. Mostly it’s because we have too much to do with too little time.
When your boss asks you to take on something new, it can be hard to know if you really have the time.
So that’s where this week’s life hack comes in!
Try keeping a time diary! Whether it’s for a week, two weeks, or a month, try keeping a small notebook with you all the time and writing down how long everything takes.
Even small tasks can add up to a lot of time, so every time you start doing something, write it down in the notebook with the time you started then the time you finished.
At the end of each day you can look at all the different tasks you did and see exactly how much time they took.
You can also start identifying trends so you can see exactly where all that valuable time is going, and whether you’ve got enough for that new project.
